17.11.20 - Photographing my Final Piece

Today I took a series of photographs around the labyrinth-like college building, placing my giant stag beetle in situations that we would not expect to find any insect in. The picture of it coming down the stairs is my favourite because it looks quite ominous with the harsh stone steps, cold lighting and the way it is coming around a blind corner. I think the beetle looks like it would move very slowly, lumbering towards you with no expression.

I also put him in casual situations like on a sofa and table, to try and convey the message that there are ways we can co-exist with nature and that it is an important part of our everyday lives.
